La Paz

La Paz is the capital of South America's poorest nation. It is located on a stunning altitude of 3660 metres (still in a valley) and with a major thoroughfare along the canyon at the bottom, where also most of the sky-scrapers and posh districts are located. The poor areas are found on higher levels.

La Paz features lovely museums, a buzzing historic centre, ornamented churches and a good bite of the local culture with women traditionally dressed in mantas and bowler hats are selling everything from lama things to food, souvenirs or branded clothes. A beautiful mix between old and new, all in a city that already boosts amazing contrasts between poor and rich.
